The history of this park began in 1954, when Ms. Nong Nooch, who came to Pattaya with her family, acquired uninhabited land. It was with her light hand that the vast territory, occupying more than 200 hectares, at first turned into a blooming orchard, and then – into one of the main attractions of Thailand. And the fault was the case. The fact is that almost immediately after the conclusion of the transaction, Madame Nong Nooch went on a long trip, during which she was so conquered by European gardens that she decided to create something similar on Thai soil.
So a tropical park appeared, consisting of different thematic zones. Now Madame Nong Nooch Garden in Pattaya is a favorite vacation spot not only for local residents, but also for many tourists who come to Pattaya from all over the world.
What to see in the park?

It is not in vain that the French Garden is called the main pride of the Nong Nooch tropical park in Thailand, because it would seem to be intertwined with seemingly incompatible elements – a classic European landscape and ancient Buddhist temples. Orchids were Madame Nong Nooch’s main passion, so there is nothing surprising in the fact that a whole garden was set aside for these magnificent flowers. In addition, this place looks really beautiful, because only flowering plants are exhibited for visitors. The rest are hidden in greenhouses.
Pot Garden can be called the most unusual place in the tropical garden Nong Nooch. Thanks to the creative ideas of designers, all kinds of figures composed of clay pots appeared on its territory. Hearts, arches, locomotives, cars, gazebos, benches and other sculptures made from this household item attract attention of tourists and serve as a wonderful photo zone.
If you look at the tourist avenues of the Nong Nooch Botanical Park in Pattaya with a photo you will see a beautiful Blue Garden. The main asset of this place are immediately 2 collections of plants. One of them is devoted to ferns, the second to palm trees. By the way, the latter in the Blue Garden collected as many as 1100 species from 2800 existing. And this is far from the limit! The director of the park plans to increase the already huge collection to 2000 species, so the Blue Garden panorama is regularly updated with new specimens. At the same time, many plants are truly unique, since they do not grow anywhere, besides this garden and its natural habitat.
There is also a private butterfly garden in the park, which is a separate room fenced with fine mesh. This improvised square is home to more than one hundred winged creatures. Those who are fortunate enough to be in this place say that if you stand without moving, the butterflies are so dare that they will start to sit on you.

Many of them easily sit on the hands and heads of tourists, so do not forget to grab breadcrumbs, pieces of fruit, grain and other goodies.
No less interesting place of Nong Nooch Park in Pattaya is the valley of dinosaurs. It is a high rock, on the slopes of which these ancient creatures are located. Interestingly, dinosaurs are made to their full height and look so real that they practically do not differ from the real ones. In this valley, the best photos are obtained.
Despite its small size, the mini-zoo of the tropical garden Nong Nooch in Thailand is in great demand (especially for children). And all because here you can not only look at deer, macaques, piglets, donkeys, camels, turtles and other exotic animals, but also touch them with your hands and feed them with all kinds of goodies (treats are sold right there for 20 baht). Nong Nooch Garden in Pattaya is famous not only for landscape design and exotic plants, but also for its memorable shows. Performances are held several times a day, so you will have time to visit each of them. We will talk about the most popular.

Do you still think that elephants are the most clumsy creatures on earth? Then you probably need to come to Pattaya and watch this show! About 50 of these exotic animals live in the park. At the same time, up to 20 individuals can be present in the arena (both small and adult). All elephants are well-groomed and quite well-fed – it seems that they are well taken care of here. They can perform a variety of tricks – play soccer, throw darts, draw, rotate the hoop, etc.
At the end of the program, anyone can get a free session of “massage” with a trunk, buy a picture painted by an elephant, take a photo with a favorite artist or treat animals with bananas, which are sold right there. But perhaps the most popular entertainment is elephant rides, which cost about 400 baht. For this, a special bench is designed on the back of the animal, designed for 2-3 people.

The national show is held in the Belvedere, located near the main auditorium of Nong Nooch Park in Pattaya. Despite the fact that the pavilion is designed for 2000 people, it is better to come to the performance in advance. This will take the best place.
The theatrical performance, introducing viewers to the customs and traditions of Thailand, is divided into 3 parts. In the first of them, expensive decorations, ethnic music and fascinating movements of dancers dressed in folk costumes await you. Following the dance part are pictures of military battles, demonstrating the long-term struggle of Thais for their own independence. The final stage is represented by elephant battles, at the end of which the animals descend into the audience with the “rulers” of Siam.
Each part of the performance has its own unique style, but in the end they add up to a colorful and incredibly vivid spectacle.

How to get from Bangkok and Pattaya?
Madame Nong Nooch Garden can be reached in several ways. Let’s consider each of them.

- The best time to visit the complex is early morning, so you can come directly to the opening (firstly, fewer tourists, and secondly, not too hot);
- A tour of the park promises to be long and eventful, so clothes and shoes should be as comfortable as possible;
- It is also worth taking a light headdress and sun protection cream with you;
- If you do not plan to use the services of a guide, take a card at the entrance;
- You can move around Pattaya Park not only on foot, but also on bicycles, elephants or golf carts. The last depart from the parking lot located near Coffee Corner Café, with an interval of half an hour. The duration of the tour is 35 minutes, the ticket price is 100 TNV per passenger. In all three cases, it is necessary to obtain a special permit and pay the rent;
- It just does not make sense to take sandwiches and bottles with mineral water with you – in Nong Nooch there are kiosks and cafes at every turn.
This is the fastest way, because a taxi will take you directly to the main entrance. The only drawback is the rather high prices (250-300 TNV in one direction). True, you can bargain. The fact is that local taxi drivers get good bonuses from the administration of the garden, which allows them to more than compensate for all the discounts. But the opposite is not the case – in this case, to bring down the price is almost impossible, because most tourists simply do not have an alternative.
On a note! It is better to agree on the way back in advance. In this case, the driver will either wait for you near the park, or drive up there by the appointed time.
Despite its low cost (40-50 TNV), this option is not suitable for everyone. And all because the tuk-tuk can only get to the Nong Nooch turn, which is at least 3 km from the park entrance. The remaining distance will have to be overcome on foot, which is not very convenient in the heat. True, you can use the services of a motorcycle or cycle rickshaw, but you will have to pay the same amount for this.
Sightseeing tours, which cost about 600 TNV, can be bought at any Thai travel agency. This method has 2 important advantages. Firstly, you don’t have to worry about the transfer, and secondly, acquaintance with the park will be held in Russian.
In this case, it is necessary to move along the Sukhumvit Road, adhering to the south. If you did everything right, you will fall in the way
floating market and signpost to the Golden Buddha Mountain. After the Tongstit village you need to turn first left and then right. So you will find yourself right at the entrance to Nong Nooch.
You can get to the park from Bangkok only by taxi or personal transport. The cost of the first is from 1200 to 1500 TNV. In addition, on the way to the park there are several sections of the toll road, the payment of which is worth discussing before the start of the trip. As for the second option, you need to go to Pattaya and only from there get to Nong Nooch.
By the way, you can get to the center of Pattaya not only by a rented car, but also by a shuttle bus departing from Ekkamai bus station every 3 hours, or by a minivan picking up tourists on Kaosan Street and near the TS Victory Monument metro station.
