Montenegro without a visa: who can visit the country without bureaucratic difficulties?

One of the most loyal states of the Balkan Peninsula for tourists from the CIS is Montenegro. Many of our fellow citizens who want to relax on the shores of the Adriatic Sea and visit beautiful sights, first of all ask the important question: “Do I need a visa to Montenegro?”. The answer to this question will please many, since Ukrainians and Russians do not need a visa to the Republic of Montenegro, as well as Belarusians. For citizens of these countries a visa-free regime is provided.

Ukrainians are allowed to stay in Montenegro for up to 90 days, Russians – up to 30 days without a visa all year round, and from April 13 to October 30 – also 90 days.

All year round you can continuously stay in Montenegro without a visa for a period not exceeding 30 days. However, for crossing the border, citizens of the Republic of Belarus will need a tourist voucher or a notarized invitation, as well as a passport. To receive that invitation, you need to contact the host. Confirmation of a hotel reservation is not enough.

In total, on the territory of Montenegro you can stay no more than 90 days in half a year. It is important that from the day you leave Montenegro, the validity of your passport is valid for at least another 3 months. Otherwise, you simply will not be allowed at the border.

It is important for Belarusians and Russians!

Stamp at the entrance to the country

If your plans to stay in Montenegro for longer than 30 days, you need to apply for a visa at the consular department in Moscow or Minsk (there are contacts at the end of the article). The visa fee is 35 EUR for Russians and 60 EUR for Belarusians. Keep in mind that the maximum period for which tourist visas are issued is 90 days. Staying on the territory of the state longer than the permitted period without a visa is fraught with deportation and a ban on visiting Montenegro for several years.
