Sihanoukville is Cambodia’s most popular resort with beautiful beaches and unique attractions, but despite this, getting to it is not very easy. Of all the modes of transport, only buses are well developed in the city, air connections are established, there are practically no railways, but there are boats and ferries that run between Sihanoukville and nearby islands.

From Phnom Penh to Sihanoukville by train
In 2016, the first passenger train was launched along the route you are interested in. The conditions are quite comfortable: soft seats are installed in the cars, there are dry closets and air conditioners. You won’t be hungry either – selling ready-made meals on trains is one of the most lucrative businesses for locals.
Phnom Penh Station is located on Monevong Boulevard. Train travel costs $ 8. In addition to the low price, the advantages of this method of transportation can be considered safety (the highway in this direction is in a deplorable state) and the ability to avoid traffic jams. But at the same time, the train travels to Sihanoukville for as long as 8 hours and catching it is not an easy task.

How to get from Bangkok to Sihanoukville
There are no direct flights to Bangkok, the most convenient option is to fly with a change in Siem Reap. From Phu Quoc to Sihanoukville
Phu Quoc is the territory of Vietnam, so getting to Sihanoukville will be as difficult as from Bangkok.
